Little Lights Urban Ministries provides holistic ministry and services to children and families living in poverty in Washington, D.C., primarily focusing on Potomac Gardens and Hopkins, two public housing communities on Capitol Hill, as well as on Benning Terrace public housing, east of the Anacostia River in Ward 7. Little Lights provides high quality and intensive after-school and summer programs with academics and enrichment, one-to-one mentoring, and arts-based programs. Little Lights also provides economic empowerment and family resource programs through the Family Center, on-the-job training, and the Clean Green Team, a landscaping micro-enterprise.

Established in 2004 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, GCC (formerly FCSC) seeks to provide free medical and counseling care to our underserved neighbors in the metropolitan DC area. Our clinic is run entirely by volunteers and operates using our donors’ personal and corporate contributions. We operate on Sundays and provide an array of services, including internal medicine and pediatrics, dentistry, and cardiology.

For over 30 years WFCM has been a critical safety net for people struggling to make ends meet. Over the decades we have provided a wide range of relief including help with rent, utilities, food, counseling, financial counseling, school supplies, as well as spiritual support. Through all these efforts we are working to eliminate poverty for the roughly 75,000 Western Fairfax county residents who live below the poverty line.

El Pozo de Vida fights against human trafficking and modern-day slavery through prevention, intervention, and restoration of the vulnerable population in Mexico and Central America. Founded in 2010 at Mexico City, EPDV created the safe house and transition house. They contributed to the legislation that prohibited child marriage in Mexico. Currently, there are 9 major projects at EPDV and over 50,000 beneficiaries who have begun their journey to healing and freedom.
